Dr. Stergioulas is one of the original founders of the company. He is responsible for all operations and for the strategic direction of Safety Technologies, Inc. He oversees and provides daily guidance to all efforts related to marketing, selling, contracting and manufacturing of the DSS™ technology Dr. Stergioulas has over 25 years of combined experience in the private and government sectors. He served in various positions in the executive and legislative branches of the United States government and held executive positions with marketing consulting companies. He has planned and directed diverse domestic and international business development and marketing programs for a variety of clients, including government agencies, trade associations and private companies. Dr. Stergioulas holds a Ph.D. in Economics, a master's degree in Economics from the University of New Mexico, and a B.A. in Political Sciences from the University of Athens, Greece.
Mr. Smythe provides technical and management support to government-related projects. He is a retired U.S. military officer with extensive security and infrastructure experience. This experience includes serving as the Deputy Team Chief and Infrastructure/Structural Engineer on an anti-terrorism team at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA); being assigned to the staff of the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS), serving as the agency lead for all critical infrastructure security issues, responsible for infrastructure engineers on five other anti-terrorism teams; and conducting assessments at over 100 installations, to include several thousand facilities in Europe, Asia, Central and North America. Mr. Smythe has also provided infrastructure and security consulting services for numerous domestic cities and states and has supported vulnerability and threat assessment teams in support of DHS initiatives. Mr. Smythe is a warranted government contracting officer and he has an active top secret security clearance. He holds a M.S. in Financial Management from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA, and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Kansas.
With more than 20 years business management experience, Tom Zoretich is involved with sales and marketing efforts to the commercial and government markets. Prior to joining STI, Mr. Zoretich held executive positions at CAVI Acquisition, Inc., Opinion One, The MVL Group, McGraw-Hill and Florida Power & Light Company. He has led enterprises serving the government, public interests, and private investors and managed operations of a broad range of companies, including small businesses and Fortune 500 global leaders. Tom has marketed to and supported numerous government clients including DoD, DoE, intelligence agencies, and DoT. He completed his undergraduate education at the Pennsylvania State University and graduate education at the University of Notre Dame.
